the transition team has rejected signing an agreement that would allow the FBI to conduct security clearances for transition members.
Additionally, the team has refused to sign an agreement to obtain secure office space, email accounts, and other security cleared assets from the General Services Administration. According to a statement from Wiles, the rejections were done in the name of government efficiency.
I really have to wonder. I mean if you or I were to apply for a job in the federal govt we'd have to have a background check, no questions. It's not even reasonable, and shouldn't be negotiable.
Why do we have paperwork for something this important that relies on the new admin doing the right thing instead of a policy with actual consequences? Why does getting a job at many businesses have a higher bar (drug tests/background check/references/etc.) than head of the National Intelligence, or even the President of the United States?!
