pop-ups (don't) rule
pop-ups (don't) rule
No, I do not want to find hot singles in my area, I just want to watch my silly little shows!
Voroxpete @sh.itjust.works Switch to Firefox. Install Ublock Origin. Never see one again.
40 0 Replypyre @lemmy.world are there browsers even without adblock extensions that allow popups? I thought that was eradicated in mid 00s.
10 0 Replyshapesandstuff @feddit.org Same on chrome, ublock does it's thing.
Also duckduckgo on mobile is pretty ok at it, fandom wikis still pop up videos and shit though
6 2 ReplyVoroxpete @sh.itjust.works I specifically recommend Firefox because Google's recent changes (depreciating manifest v2) will make UBO less and less effective over time on any Chromium based browser (which is basically every browser you've heard of that isn't Firefox). So if you want the best ad blocking experience, Firefox is the only real option going forward.
17 0 ReplyProgrammer Belch @lemmy.dbzer0.com Firefox on mobile also let's you install UBO, it's the only way I watch YouTube nowadays
5 0 Replyphorq @lemmy.ml I literally haven't seen a pop-up that I didn't need to manually enable in years. Didn't realize they were still an issue...

Drew Belloc @programming.dev My college website uses a pop-up to send me to the library site... just why? I need to allow the pop-up everytime
8 0 ReplySmorty [she/her] @lemmy.blahaj.zone They're useful for devs, they can allow for quick settings access without shifting around the UI a whole bunch.
I like them, when they can be closed with escape.
