Paper bags, obviously
Love your username
Probably not, it's a matter of taste. No joke, I think it tastes good and do it all the time
Huh, coulda sworn that was Alice in chains
This shower thought is pretty much the basis of Archimedes principle. The upwards force of buoyancy is equal and opposite to the weight of the displaced fluid. Just imagine an empty bathtub floating in the lake. Now imagine the tub in the bathroom filled to the same level that the lake tub was submerged. The force keeping the lake tub floating and the force of the weight of the bathroom tub (including the weight of the tub) are the same.
Huh, I just went looking for stock images to show this and til that apparently historical accounts say that the principle was discovered in the bathtub.
I've pretty much been asking for a steam deck without a screen, so if this leak is accurate than I for one am fucking STOKED
People were saying that about the steam deck before it came out. Maybe some people have had issues, but anecdotally I've literally never heard one complaint about that from someone who actually used the device. The way the joystick is elevated above the pad your palm really shouldn't touch it
Suck a lemon. Actually that sounds good maybe I'll go do that
I'm the idiot who ate the entire package of Warheads in one mouthful on a whim, no peer pressure necessary. Can confirm, everything tasted like battery acid and flour for a few days there
Yeah because when somebody says "Nazi atrocities", my mind always goes straight to their economic policies. /s
Are many guns bought directly from the manufacturer?
You plebs and your pathetic water-displacing stench. I wear the finest kano kroil
"I'm having one of those things! You know? A headache with pictures"
"... An idea?"
Maybe jpegged to hell? You're right though it's kinda sus
This is the big reason. OneDrive used to be decent back when it simply offered my cloud storage in a folder locally, and it was more stable than Google Drive on Windows for me. But then, triggered by updates, they started hijacking the rest of my PC, syncing folders that I never wanted synced, like Documents and Pictures. When I uninstalled OneDrive, I couldn't access them at all! It had without my consent transferred all of my files into OneDrive and completely off of my computer. They were still visibly there, owned by OneDrive, but I couldn't access them. I had already wiped them from OneDrive before I realized this because at this point I was decided that I was done with OneDrive after this serious breach in trust, but luckily they were still in the OneDrive recycle bin. After a lot of swearing and googling, I found that I was far from the only person dealing with this, and after reading a few threads, I found the solution. I was able to reinstall OneDrive on the PC, restore access to my files, turn off the syncing they was turned on without my permission, and only then uninstall OneDrive. So yeah, I was happy with OneDrive for a few years as an alternative to Google Drive, but after that move? Fuck no, it's dead to me. I will not let OneDrive touch or get anywhere near my files.
if the Roku app is having playback issues, try turning on "Text Subtitles Only" in playback settings
TL;DR if the Roku app is failing to play back some videos recently, try turning on "Text Subtitles Only" in playback settings
So I'd been having this issue where certain videos would fail to playback in the Roku player (but only on Roku, playing from the Android app, the browser, or directly all worked). The video would get stuck buffering at 33%, but after a minute or so it'd finally stop with "There was an error retrieving the data for this item from the server". Transcoding issue? I'd been trying to figure this issue out for a few hours over the course of a few days. I don't recall having this issue before mid-December, and as I learned today apparently there was a big update to the Roku app.
Anyway, my first real clue was using "ffmpeg -i video.mp4" to compare the codecs of a known working video and a not working video. The non-working video was showing an issues with subtitles. So after poking around in the Roku client's settings I saw the "Text Subtitles Only" option in playback settings, and enabling it worked!
Hopefully someone sees this and it saves them a headache. I had to postpone my personal movie night like three times trying to figure this out
Feature request: make "Scrolling past Post marks as read" toggle accessable from the main feed
Pretty much title. Sometimes I want to see new content, sometimes I want to go back and look at old content. It's a little exhausting having to jump into settings to hit that toggle, and it would be really cool if we could switch it from the top bar or in the three-dot menu in the top bar
Request: option to auto-hide nav and title bars
Scrolling down hides them, scrolling up they come back. I like being able to see more content at a time, it'll make the app feel less claustrophobic.
Haptic feedback on minimizing comment chains
Infinity for reddit used to vibrate briefly when comment chains were minimized (same way, press and hold). I got really used to that feedback.
Also related, but an option to disable the animation for minimizing comment chains would be cool. The slide is kind of disorienting to me
