Was the drive scanned for errors before installing it? I’ve been running 2x8TB drives for about 1.5 years. If a drive fails, it is better to find out earlier while they are within warranty.

At the hardware level yes, software, yes as long as you don’t mind repaying for something you bought previously (potentially) and also don’t mind it being unavailable a few years later.

Shelly dimmers behave like that. I might have changed a setting here and there in stock firmware but they also integrated into home assistant with an import script someone posted on the HA forums, no need for some app. The ones I have are WiFi though.
As a programmer/developer, I take issue with that statement. No rational tech person would suggest windows as an operating system for any high availability back end or have such a sparse GitHub persona for someone that claims such prowess in technology.
