Sarcasm my dude.
Death penalty doesn't reduce crime.
What I'm calling out is that the comment laid out the blueprint for authoritarian extrajudicial killings, they just don't get it.
Agree. I get very grumpy refactoring async rust. It's the only time at the point in my career that I think "what the fuck I don't know anything about anything I think I'm a lizard"
If peacefully unionizing or organizing folk are attacked, they are morally free to defend themselves, even in an organized way.
Establishing killsquads and public executions will not stay "pure" and will cause massive spill over violence.
There's an important distinction between the two.
Above I provided a meaningful reply to "what's your solution". You can argue it might not be effective, but I'm certainly not avoiding anything. I made my point, and my suggestion.
I've fundamentally contested what you said.
If you have seized the means and systems, the billionaire class are by definition deplatformed.
Wrong glass wrong tool. Firefighters always carry glassbreak tools, but laminates need tools like a sawszall at minimum
Seriously? What of children, as the bare minimum?
Site wide the general tone is "if they don't pass the test, kill em"
No contest on the examples you provided. They are horrible.
God damn Lemmy
Edit literally just now a thread about Tesla's being hard for emergency services to get into, people are replying that the occupants should be left to die.
Not excusing the past, OR the present, but people a few centuries from now will call us monsters.
When was the last time your big FDA doctor told you to sun your butthole? Why would they hide that from you?
If you've seized em you've seized em. The system is no longer available for their exploitation. So did you or didn't you?
Again, have fun with the violence, but once that cat is out of the bag you always get 2 things:
- Spillover violence outside the "pure" original intentions
- Power vacuum
Well, non violent seizing of the means via unionizing and community action via grassroots electorate driven by transparent mutual aid.
But once you sign on to get the executions starting, you better hope you're in the "in group" all along. Else the violence will eventually come for you (not you you, hypothetical anyone)
And back to my point, the death penalty will just make them crafty, it won't stop greed.
It will absolutely solve the problem,.
People dont want to die > People stop doing things that make others want to kill them > Success
Edit if y'all don't see how I'm being sarcastic, and this reply is about how the death penalty does not deter crime, I don't know what to tell ya.
Lots of folks here are 100% for violence against anyone they disagree with.
They intended to "gotcha" but you dodged.
Got it death penalty for all crimes
Random thought about snow
For many places that are used to seasonal snow, there could likely be a day in our lifetime, where folks see their last blizzard. Their last big snowfall.
Makes me cherish the cold and the snow even more.
Edit hope random thoughts like this are ok here.
Group review of my new lemmy.ml ban
I was just banned for a comment that was critical of kamala Harris, critical of Hamas, pro Palestinian civilians who are suffering genocide from the Israeli government
"Rule 1" and I didn't even use a slur or anything.
Quotes incoming, have to copy paste
I wish there were more articles about tech not tech biz
Just seems like everything is "this company did this to their employees" and less about "this novel messaging protocol offers these measured pros and cons." Or similar
And yes, I could post things, but I'm referring to what hits the top, 12h.
Can anyone rec communities with less of a biz and politics and wfh vs in-office vibe?
