I don't agree with you, but you are onto something.
Your use of "wokeness" is a good description for the way "Woke" is used to keep minorities in their place, c.f. Simpsons writing Apu out, despite dozens of subcontinent ethnicity comedians all openly saying they'd love the role, or streaming companies just stopping access to "problematic" content for an easy headline, c.f. Many streaming services and Community's first D&D episode.
It is shown in people too, usually comorbid with a white saviour complex, where the being seen in the act of "helping" is more important than listening to the voices of whoever is being helped and the actual effectiveness, or desire, for the "help" given.
I wonder how neatly it maps onto a Liberal/Leftist divide... Probably not especially as everyone has blindspots and hangups over Race and Class that can be buried quite deep in the subconscious.
You can't see them without a microscope, duhhh.
That's why they're called MICRO-chips.
I'm more confused as to why the pizza wasn't just passed to her from the fridge.
She is sitting closer than either teleporter module. Guess he just wanted to show off...
... And now I'm wondering why the clothes didn't fuse? Maybe his pants aren't organic material?
Alas the UK has begun outsourcing prisons to private companies like G4S to profit from.
We are ever the worst of Western Europe.
Only lines with voice work for me, even though there are plenty of great unvoiced lines across games. Sorted by game... I think this post certainly puts me of a generation.
"My emperor! I've failed youuuu!"
"Fox, get this guy off me!"
"You're good, but I'm BETTER!"
"Never give up, trust your instincts!"
"IF THIS DOES NOT WORK!"
Honestly one of the most quoteable games ever made.
"Stay a while and listen."
"My hotel's as clean as an Elven arse!"
"Whaaaat?!"
"Tiax shall smite ye."
"Heya, it's me Imoen."
"MASSACRE!"
"Not yet!"
"hyut hyut hyut"
"My fists never betray me!"
"Don't stand behind me."
"I'm gonna sleep well tonight!"
"The feeling... It's... coming back!"
"Good vibrations!"
"Hello brother! [...] I live on in this arm!"
"Laugh, and grow fat!"
"What was that just now?"
Love a good ham. We need more of them in video games.
"I'mma Luigi, number 1."
"Falcon PUNCH!"
"You're going the wrong way!"
"Retired!"
"You require more vespene gas!"
"All crews operational." / "Battlecruiser operational." ?
"En'taro Adun executor."
"I do this for Auir, not you!"
"Your base in under attack."
"So what shall it be? Will you join the Unity or will you die here? Join... DIE! Join... DIE!"
"Doctor required in inflator room."
"[...] to the last place uncorrupted by Capitalism! SPACE!"
I'm too mercurial and indecisive to ever have a definitive favourite anything. So here's three that do well on different metrics:
PJ Harvey - Let England Shake
It's one of the strongest first halves of an album ever in my opinion.
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
Fond memories, and if you've nothing to do for an hour headphones, the two of you and a comfy chair are still a great way to pass it.
Talking Heads - Fear of Music Probably the album I've listened to most. Lot of big tunes here.
This is where all the rude and lewd graffiti comes in handy!
Or, if you're of a more gnostic bent, half fallen angel, half human nephilim who'd been teaching humans forbidden knowledge, such as advanced metal-crafting and makeup.
About 70 hours, at that time in my life it was normal for me to go 24 hours or so without sleep because I was addicted to WoW.
That time I realised I'd hit 30 and decided to see how long I could go without sleep.
At somewhere after 60 hours I began hallucinating and became convinced that there were elephants inside the walls making them deform.
That was the sign I needed to go to sleep, and I slept for almost 20 hours straight.
It's harder to advocate for destroying things one possesses.
If we want to end Capitalism, not being invested in it is probably more helpful than not.
That said, I have met a fair few people that would fall under the label of "Leftist" that have had small businesses. Although not the hyper-radical left.
My arm hair is like a fish.
Dark on top, pale underneath, and while not as dense as my leg hair it is still very apparent.
I will admit to not noticing it as often in others, but I also don't have a visual memory.
"Ahead a few years" on censorship on hate speech, but look to be decades behind on corporate shill nutjobs (though we're ahead a little on bank shills).
Eastern Europe would be the probable exception, due to the ever threat of Russian invasion.
(As for the Okinawan bases... I think all the sexual assault has something to do with it, beyond the fighting in the Second World War.)
British English has a lot more variance than Yankspeak.
We're more likely to use "help V+ing" than "help INF". An average larger vocabulary, atop different usages. Even with US dominated media eroding our dialects faster than ever there's still a lot of difference out there.
I will need a more specific question to give more response. Are you a non-native English speaker living in the UK?
If the base in Okinawa is famously unpopular amongst the Okinawa locals and a political head ache for the Japanese government, I don't imagine that other bases in less allied countries are more popular.
I know even the bases in Europe are famed for being rough and a blight on towns. (but then so are most British military bases in at least England...)
But Purges are a right wing phenomena to attack society, they'd never be able to off a millionaire.
A day or two before Musky gets on his private jet and flies off to a third country, or a private island or somewhere while right wing hate groups kill off minorities, leftists, and political critics.
I remember Maro saying when BLB came out that with modern game speeds 7 was the preferred number after all (originally, post Onslaught they felt 7 was too low iirc).
With BLB in Standard at the mo and GY being an ever-present matters thing now, I can see why it'd be on some cards.
We acknowledge that the game is a work of fiction. Historical fiction, but fiction none-the-less.
If every fifth character is also black, I think there is a point that can be made about verisimilitude and taking liberties; but since we know he really existed and that there has been debate on what he did, having a work of fiction that portrays him as a samurai under Nobunga doesn't seem unreasonable.
To compare, we know that Leonardo Di Vinci didn't hand out guns to people or build functional flying machines - but we know he designed all sorts of stuff ahead of its time, so it kinda fits in a fictional story with him in.
But only one of those seems to draw huge amounts of complaints online... And it's actually the less historically accurate one.
How did your prerelease go?
How did you all get on at your prereleases?
Looks to be a synergy set as despite opening Lumara, Maha, and almost one of each of the reanination spells in the set I went 2:1. =ł ah well.
Matched up against a fun deck blinking Head of the Homestead with the token class enchantment. Luckily it doesn't do well against Vren the Relentless. On the other hand it turns out that Azure Beastbinder is a top tier threat, and synergy can beat power.
Still I can't complain about opening chase cards. What about all of you? Any fun interactions or moments from your prerelease?
Their last hurrah!
Which decks leaving with rotation this autumn are you sad to see go?
For me there are two big ones: Rakdos Anvil and Mono-Blue Cauldron Combo.
Rakdos Anvil has been able to turn into Mardu Warleader's Anvil, which can kill out of nowhere with Ojer Axonil. It's a lot of fun to play, but yes not a tier one deck at the moment. Gets wrecked by Temporary Lockdown, unfortunately; but still does alright if not great.
Mono-Blue Cauldon Combo is, in my opinion, more consistent than the GU Culdron Combo that remains. It can be surprisingly aggressive as a plan B in case oppo is focused on disruption, and with new additions from MKM (Forensic Researcher) and OTJ (Harrier Strix) is more powerful and consistent than even. Does very well on ladder, but is a bit of a hassle to play on Arena, because infinite mana isn't handled well at all. That might be why it seems unexpected and steals a lot of wins. Doesn't actually get wrecked by Temporary Lockdown, because you can bounce it at end of turn and get all the combo pieces back and then just go off.
But what about all you other Standard Appreciaters? What decks are you sad to see go at rotation?
These decks...
Anyone manage to win with either of the artifact decks (Token Resistance and Artifact or Fiction)?
The others all seem to go hugely over the top, or just trample over them each time I try to play them.
RIP Secret Reach
New reach effect in arena to make it very obvious.
Secret reach is now instant speed tricks only. =( (Though I've attacked into more than my share of reaching cyclops.)
189: Akul, Crushed-acean
BBRR 5/5 rare legendary dragon scorpion rogue
Flample (flying, trample). Sac 3 creatures: put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield. Activate at sorcery speed, and only once per turn.
Kinda underwhelming, despite the somewhat unique ability. Still, 5/5 flample for 4 is very good.
Edit: totally assumed the card was mythic, that'll teach me to post when I'm tired. This is much more influential in limited then.
226 Sandstorm Verge
Uncommon land - desert
T: add C. 3: target creature can't block this turn, activate only as a sorcery.
Happy cat

118 Plot-e-coyote
Haste When ~ enters the battlefield, another target creature you control gets +1/+1 and gains haste until end of turn. Plot 1R
Finally a plot card that looks like it makes back some of the tempo. Maybe we'll see some more in the days to come.
294 - Kellan, the Kid
GWU mythic legendary creature - human faerie rogue
Flying, lifelink Whenever you cast a spell from anywhere except your hand, you may cast a permanent spell with equal or lesser CMC from your hand without paying its mana cost. If you don't you may put a land card from your hand on to the battlefield.
OTJ 206: Gitrog, Ravenous Ride
3GB mythic Creature - mount Trample, haste, saddle 1 Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, you may sacrifice a creature that saddled it this turn. If you do, draw X cards and then play upto X land cards from your hand where X is the sacrificed creatures power.
OTJ 079: Gisa, the Hellraiser
Mythic 3BB Human Warlock ward 2, pay 2 life Skeletons and zombies you control get +1/+1 and menace. Whenever you commit a crime, create 2 tapped 2/2 blue-black zombie creature tokens. Triggers only once each turn.
OTJ 14
Instant W
Spree (fancy kicker) +1 : exile target non-token creature return it to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. +2 : exile target creature if it has the greatest power or is tied for the greatest power amongst creatures on the battlefield.
OTJ 194
Sorcery 3BG Return upto one target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield, return upto one target permanent card from your graveyard to your hand.
Looks good for draft if the format isn't too fast, and still decent in a controlling deck even if it is.
New artist copyright infringement just dropped...
Wow, Wizards really needs to better vet artists or indeed artwork at this point.
Outlaws of Thunder Junction Part 5: High Moon
At the stroke of midnight, Kellan's duel begins. Tarnation gets some unwelcome company.
Kellan's duel with Akul takes place.
Ral sets up the lead in to the conclusion.
I'd love to see Oko in some antivillain roles in the future, or have him glorious bastard his way across Esper.
