I don't know what gender you are, but you've just triggered my spidey-gut.
These are great ideas. I want the stories! Star Trek creators, give me these stories!!!
Hier kommt die Sonne.
Oh, then I guess the only possibility is detabuisation. Those people need to know they will be treated, not persecuted in a super harsh way. Then they won't be afraid to selfreport and we will know, whether we work with a pedo or a predator, and we can addjust the way we work with them accordingly.
I think there are ways to psychologically assess an individual, so there's no need to rely on self reporting.
I think there are methods to filter them out - that's how we know most child molesters are not actual pedos. Personally, I'm against gassing anyone and I'm for the approach suggested in the article.
Dvořák's From the New World is amazing, epic and catchy!
There's no way you can redirect the trolleis on those tracks. They're not really interconnected. So the problem is only theoretical - no matter whether you pull the lever or not, the trolley will continue on it's journey to kill your relative.
Pedophiles although superproblematic, are surprisingly not the group of people that do the most child molesting. In most cases, the offenders are sexual predators attracted mainly to adults that focus on children because they're an easier target, not because they are optimally attractive to them. Very often they are people from the child's family.
That's not true though. Yellow is a very real wavelength. The fact that we don't have unique receptors for it changes nothing about it's nature. Also our eyes are not being tricked into anything, they just pass on the signal they get. Our brain sometimes plays tricks on itself. But interpreting red and green signal as yellow means getting closer to the physical truth, not further from it.
The point is we don't know, so we can't be sure it's vandalism. We just don't know.
It's not cold physically, it's cold emotionally.
Guitar and books are great hobbies to return to when you're older. It can be harder with sports.
I've checked and it seems things are not that bad on that front. The identified new Chinese sources were eliminated, if I understand correctly. There are still some sources unaccounted for, which is concerning, but those might be anywhere, not just in China.
Here's an article, if you were interested: https://climate.nasa.gov/news/3065/nasa-funded-network-tracks-the-recent-rise-and-fall-of-ozone-depleting-pollutants/
That depends on the country and local experience with the US, which differes a lot. When it comes to Europe, US presence in NATO is crucial for the region's security since WW2.
Well, there are already countries where people are not allowed to be furries and countries where the persecution is just starting. It can happen anywhere. There's just one intolerance, no matter what target it choses. I'm not trying to compare furries and lgbt in any other way than in the hate those groups ignite in some people. And the hate is what I'm concerned with.
Also China recently started producing freons again. I thought we got rid of that problem for good, but no..
This is a worthy take that is unfortunately quite rarely seen. People are just not rational enough.
Saru
I just started watching Discovery season 3. I was quite traumatized by the low quality of s02, but I decided to give season 3 a chance because I like most of the characters. Now comes the point. I do like Saru a lot nowadays, but at first I was put off a bit by his treatment of the tardigrade. Did any of you mind his lack of empathy for the animal? Or were you alright with him treating the creature as a resource without thinking twice? It feels kind of wrong to me when his own nation is treated as a resource on his home planet.
How do I return to the right page of Lemmy posts?
I'm using Firefox on an Android phone to view Lemmy. When I click a post at the second page of posts and go back after reading, it takes me to the first page of posts. Am I doing something wrong?
YSK you can easily escape the new post avalanche bug by viewing the 2nd page of posts
Why YSK: I use the web version of Lemmy both on desktop and mobile. By going directly to the 2nd page of posts, I get rid of both the neverending stream of new posts and of the same old posts that keep sticking to the 1st page. It works for all the filters: active, hot... No need to scroll down, just change the number in the end of the URL from 1 to 2 and save it to favourites or whatever.
