Tesla releases API pricing, dev says would cost $60 million per year to run his 3rd-party app
  • "Theres no ethical consumption under capitalism, so what do you expect me to drive a used car like a PEASANT? If i cant consume 100% ethically ill just consume however i want, and i want a fancy german treat car so just shut up okay"

  • Self perception
  • Lots of women do this, mostly very young ones with fresh naive boyfriends but its definitely not unheard of for a woman to act that way. Not that that excuses the men who behave like this also.

  • A funeral for voicemail - The Oatmeal
  • What makes you say that? The website seems way less ad heavy or monetized than most webcomic sites. I dont even see a link for a patreon or any sort of paywall. Theres one trailer for his netflix show but thats barely even self promotion, and doesnt come close to the shameless levels of nearly begging that a lot of webcomic artists do.

  • Windows VS Linux (part 2)
  • Another alternative for your expression might be 'to do less' as i steamos doesn't do less than windows. Or 'do worse than'. I would say even 'steamos doesnt under-do windows in terms of gaming' would work but it sounds more awkward. Mind if i ask what language the expression 'do under' is from? Its neat, i like it. English sucks in a lot of ways. Also agree with everything you said about OSes. I had tried linux in the past but mostly stuck to windows for gaming, then i got a steam deck and ill never install windows ever again.

  • I'll never forgive Microsoft for normalizing Word
  • Maybe that should be better communicated in the about section of the community, because it just says memes are welcome as long as they arent hateful and fit in with community ideals, nothing about them having to be solarpunk themed.

  • *straw slurp sound*
  • If it does go out the back of the tooth i wouldnt say that removes the need for a straw. Its like a siphon tube into a gas tank, but the tooth goes directly into the vein/artery and acts as a conduit for the blood so it doesnt spill everywhere or require a perfect suction seal with the lips.

  • "I want everything on my computer to look shiny and fake and rendered and if i cant have that with linux then microsoft will just get to keep raping my data. Because when im watching my YOUTUBERS i dont want to see people i want them to look like filtered upscaled animations."

  • I started using connect way back when jerboa wasnt all that great yet and i still love it, but ive heard jerboa is amazing now also. Id reccommend trying both of those, theyre both fully free and ad free.

  • Misinformation applies to statements of fact not opinion. This was the first thing said. Asking for further 'clarification' was done in bad faith and was just an attempt to obfuscate the issue and seem 'reasonable'. Its a tactic most intelligent adults can recognize and wont put up with, like when a child tries to pretend they dont know how to do their chores and just need you to show them 'one more time'. And then goes 'fine since i obviously cant do it right i just wont do it at all'

  • Lmao he was literally sea-lioning. Misinformation is also not something that needs to be clarified beyond blackbeards first statement which is "someones opinion that you disagree with, that is clearly just an opinion, is not misinformation". I think the person trying to silence dissenting opinions and then acting like a child when they get called out for it is the one who doesn't cut it as a mod, actually.

  • Yeah i cant believe the people defending them in this thread. I guess anyone can build up a little following of devoted supporters regardless of how childish and argumentative they behave. Really makes you think. Flying Squid does not come out of this looking good in any way.

  • Steam is 'an unsafe place for teens and young adults': US senator warns Gabe Newell of 'more intense scrutiny' from the government if Valve doesn't take action against extremist content
  • A shopping mall is absolutely not a public space, and if youre shouting slurs into a megaphone, or even just harassing random shoppers with your crazy beliefs, you are definitely going to be dragged out by security. And or/have the cops come to remobe you. I hope you understand how badly you just disproved your own point.

  • They may not have real federation, but they do some things well
  • Wowww this comment says a lot. Have you ever considered that if you were given the ability to 'hurt' people who you think deserve it, that other people could use that same ability to 'hurt' people who dont deserve it? Maybe stop focusing on retaliation for dumb internet disagreements and go touch some grass.

  • question about "synchronic displacement" in TNG 'Times Arrow'

So in this episode they go into a cave, and can read some sort of energy field, as well as Troi having a sense that there are lifeforms present. Geordie explains that the people must be displaced in time, but only by a few milliseconds. If that's true, how is there not overlap? Say the people are a few milliseconds ahead of the enterprise when they arrive, shouldn't they appear a few milliseconds later, as they still would have had to be 'present' during that time? I don't understand how they would be consistently invisible if time is a dimension like space that can be traveled through. Some past (or future) version of them would be present regardless of the desynchronization would they not?

Please if anyone could help me understand or shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.
