And also just giving the artist credit, because they deserve it for a hilarious comic strip
Oh hey don’t get me wrong. I switched my job from an ad agency to an emergency management SaaS company that was crucial during COVID to ensure vaccines went out to people when they should have and continues to have beneficial applications. I took a big pay cut, but the work is far more fulfilling.
I’m by no means saying we should treat our lives as if nothing matters, and I apologize that it came off that way. I think moreso my message was that there’s no great creed or so we can look to for guidance. Wake up every day, do your best to help others, then sign off of the toxicity that is most social media and do your best to treat yourself and those you care about with love. Go to sleep, and rinse and repeat.
But just don’t expect some magic eureka moment of where it gets easier. We’re all just struggling, and unfortunately I don’t think the forces we struggle against like greed will ever go away.
Cheers, thanks for the discourse, and I hope you find yourself with increasing happiness as the days flow by
Yeah choosing BMW is a strange choice against something like Tesla when they are doing the same sort of thing. I won’t criticize the “I’m rich so I bought an expensive car” thing, that can happen elsewhere, but the idea that BMW is the lesser of the evils isn’t really accurate.
I wish we were in a world where we could more easily avenge our terrible upbringing in this system moment after moment like Geralt, where if we’re to choose between the lesser of two evils, we’d rather not choose at all.
I think your comment is the most succinct summary in and of itself. It exists like a perfect quote from Greek philosophy. I was purely pointing out the broken issue of copyright as it exists.
The point of existence is to struggle for better existence in some schools of thought as you’ve summarized.
In others, it’s to realize that by struggling through cycles of existence you are not aware of the trap of existence, like Zen Buddhism.
In traditional Abrahamic schools of thought it’s to honor God enough and follow your creed that you get rewarded after you die.
I think the way I feel about existence is more Nihilist. Something like https://youtu.be/E_qvy82U4RE
In an ideal society sure, we don’t live in an ideal society
Agreed, and I feel like the big issue here is there are two versions of “anti-woke” in gaming.
The first is gamers that want real progressive storylines that tie into the story well, and are critical of corporations trying to shoehorn random aspects of culture to be “woke” which fall flat because it’s just virtue signaling.
But it’s been conflated with the sort of 4chan style mentality of “gamer men” who criticize anything, even historically accurate stories who call a game woke just because it doesn’t fit their favorite narrative of muscular white dude or scantily clad woman being the protagonist.
An example of this is Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game should by no means be labelled “woke” by anybody. It’s telling a dramatized tale of a real person that existed within feudal Japan who was by all measure a black samurai. However the second group in my description above has taken it upon themselves to criticize the studio for “forcing a narrative” or whatever which simply isn’t true. It’s a real person, from history, and they are telling a video game version of his story.
It’s annoying that the improper “wokeness” criticism there gets conflated with true criticism of studios adding barely fleshed out token elements of “inclusion” that by and large benefit nobody but instead detract from titles.

I’m traveling internationally to visit my fiancé and spend our first Christmas together. I just want the trip to go smoothly and take full advantage of the 120 PTO hours I’m burning without getting an urgent work call.
I hate clickbait titles. This should be “Sudan has more children fleeing war than anywhere else on Earth”
(Note I’m not calling out OP, I’m calling out the BBC for their clickbait title)
Totally agree, but if you want to see who was really at Trump rallies vs what something like Fox News will show you, here it is
No no no he’s microdosing LSD it’s different and cool
Hell someone has probably already clipped it for tik tok
Yeah their goal is to sow discord and infighting. While generally that’s best done with the far right, it’s also in their interest to have mouthpieces who will say anything that can cause additional hostility
The video? Channel 5 / Andrew is probably one of the best journalists out there today. This isn’t satire, it’s someone who legitimately went to a Trump rally, gave people a mic, and this is what they said
Ah yes, the old “I don’t think women should have any power” women.
If you don’t believe me:
Well, the rich ones are buying cyber trucks on top of their kitted out huge trucks. The ones that want to feel rich are signing predatory auto loans to buy a huge truck and “own the libs”
