Best Buy says Trump's tariffs could force it to raise prices for consumers

  • Yep, and the prices will stay high even after the tariffs are gone.

Grocery stores are the worst about this too. Prices are still absurdly high despite there being no more supply issues from covid.

  • It's funny you mention the ACA, since what we have now came from Republicans absolutely gutting the original ACA proposal which should surprise absolutely no one since the GOP is bought and paid for by insurance companies.

  • I get what you're saying, but apathy at that scale isn't calling democrats a horse. It's taking a backseat on your future.

  • I spent hours trying to persuade US voters to choose Harris not Trump. I know why she lost | Oliver Hall
  • "I know why she lost"

She lost because 11 million people sat out this election. That's it, that's all there is.

The fact is that most of this country leans blue, and when voters turn out, blue typically wins. This is why the GOP is doing everything they can to make sure people don't vote.

Trump has a vote ceiling of around 74, maybe 75 million. In 2020, 81 million people voted for Biden.

  • We did it, guys!
  • Nearly every news outlet has reported record voter turnout, but look at the vote counts from 2020 vs this year.

Cashless is a nice idea, but it is extremely prohibitive against the most vulnerable people (which, sadly, might be part of the point).

  • I made a programming.dev Firefox extension, but could use some help/feedback

Hey all, I made a Firefox extension (signed by Mozilla) specifically to add Show/Hide Child Comments functionality similar to how RES had it (where the parent comment is still visible).

It's not very useful, but I could use some feedback on tightening up the Javascript. I'm not a JS beginner, but I know I can do better, so any tips are welcome!

EDIT: Also, if anyone has any suggestions for the extension, I'm open to those as well.

Is there a way to set "All" as the default view instead of "Subscribed"?

Installed yesterday and immediately went ad-free. It's such a beautiful app.

Anyway, question is in the title.
