Are you not picking up on the words we and us when I talk about Americans?
No it's not like that at all. Americans chose this. You're an American. Stop making excuses and accept that this is how the world sees us and we deserve it.
You can be upset with the results of the election but it doesn't change them. In a very real sense what you wanted to happen is irrelevant. A second Trump administration is the collective will of the American people and the rest of the world has every right to be annoyed with us for it.
Perhaps that is why many choose not to participate
It sounds like you're saying we need to bribe our politicians to get them to represent us. Is that what you're getting at? Because I fundamentally disagree with that concept.
If that fact was recently publicized to the point that you could reasonably say it applied to 150 million people then you might have a point
Why? He's not wrong. The description may not fit you or I but it fits enough people that it applies to the general direction of our country. Seems accurate enough to me.
Not for me. Trump is right there most of the time
Given what we've witnessed recently this seems like a lot of misplaced faith in the ability of American voters to make rational decisions.
I'm not German but I feel like that word implies that the observer is uneffected by the situation they are observing. This is going to impact everyone which I imagine will significantly decrease the amount of satisfaction one could get from watching these people learn hard lessons.
I wouldn't do what Rogan has done as a response but I don't blame people for being disillusioned with the way Bernie was treated either. All the bad stuff people say about Trump is true but he wasn't the one that did everything in his power to prevent a progressive with grassroots support from getting the nomination to run for president. That was all the DNC. They shouldn't be surprised to see backlash to that kind of treatment. Obviously it would have been much better for everyone if that backlash had occurred when Republicans were running a relatively sane candidate but here we are.
It's pretty great tech if you employ a lot of people whose only job is to handle customer complaints and you don't really care if those complaints are handled well or not.
We're considering letting Oracle, Meta, and Microsoft (that I know of) reactivate or otherwise make use of nuclear power plants to power their AI ambitions. How long before that turns into owning and operating nuclear reactors in house? Now I'm not of the opinion that nuclear power is inherently unsafe but if I had to pick my worst case scenario of implementation it may well be letting big tech run a facility like that.
On the other hand, I see first hand on a daily basis the kind of power consumption we're talking about putting to use for AI and that's a huge fucking problem if you care about the environment at all. I don't know what the right answer is. All I can say is I hope we invent scalable fusion reactors, or some other way to harness vast amounts of energy, very quickly. Otherwise this is not going to end well.
I've always dreamed of visiting Northern Western Ireland. Too bad there's a war in Southern Eastern Europe.
I don't think that's the goal but if it is at least make it a $20 bill or something. 25 cents isn't enough of a bribe to get seated at a restaurant more quickly, much less erase hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.
Have you asked a nazi about that?
This is the only effective way to slow him down imo. Make fun of him for having small crowds at his rallies then sue him for libel when he says his were bigger. It doesn't matter if it goes anywhere in court, you just need to force the conversation to keep his attention.
Filter by community default language
Can we add the option to exclude communities and/or posts that are in a different language than our chosen default? I'm guessing filtering communities would be easier than individual posts but I'm not sure how language would be flagged. I understand some people may want to see some of these posts but even multilingual people must be bombarded with posts in languages they don't speak. I'm getting pretty annoyed that half of my feed is stuff I can't read.
I've looked through the settings multiple times but I suppose it's still possible this already exists and I just missed it.
