Ex-Google CEO warns that 'perfect' AI girlfriends could spell trouble for young men
  • I don't fuck with AI chat bots but I got a he'll of a lot less lonely when I stopped giving a fuck if I had a girlfriend or not. Giving people alternatives to the toxic dating culture of today may not be such a bad thing.

  • And then there's the dude I ran into at a bonfire a couple months ago talking about how he got a deer to trust him enough to come on his property and let him hand feed it and the instant deer season starts he was going to shoot it.

  • Have you ever been experienced a natural disaster? If so, which one?
  • It went from feeling normal to feeling like there was less air around instantly. Like it was slightly harder to breathe and just feels lighter. It's hard to explain. The closest thing I'd compare it to was going to someplace that's a high altitude but it was an instant drop instead of changing as you go up.

  • Had a tornado go by 1/4 mile from our house once. It was dark so we didn't really realize how close it was at the time. My dad and I were on the front porch when the sirens went off and were like "yea, whatever" because those things go off just about every time we have a storm in spring. Then we felt the air pressure drop and were like "Oh, shit, maybe we should go inside". The next day we drove by where it went through and saw all the debris everywhere. Fortunately it was mostly empty field and didn't hit any houses.

  • I don't care about the article. I'm asking you because you've stated your opinion that new reddit and I literally cannot understand it even when I try looking from other perspectives. There is nothing I can see that is better about new reddit. I don't mean that to be confrontational towards you or to say you are wrong in it. I just would like to understand because it seems more and more things are going towards similar designs and I hate it.

  • New Reddit is only marginally better on mobile than on desktop. Old Reddit still blows it out of the water. 2 posts per page vs. 8 when I just checked. Not to mention new Reddit is just a lot slower in general and mixes links to other posts into the comments of the one you're looking at.

  • Yea, I used old.reddit.com even on my phone and it was fine. Their new design was fucking awful the last time I saw it. On top of that it was slow as shit. You spend more time looking at that fucking stupid spinning logo than you do seeing content.

  • When I was a kid my parents wouldn't let me make my own pinewood derby car, even though I had done one already without issue the previous year. My dad then proceeded to put a 1/2" drill bit through his hand while doing it for me. I always found that kind of funny.

  • That's the only argument I've ever been able to get out of pro-life people. Literally all they have is "what about the rights of the fetus?" sometimes with an added touch of "women's uterus are meant to carry babies". Last week I had a long thread going with one of them. I'd direct you to it but a mod deleted all their comments.

  • Are previously downloaded Steam games transferable from Windows to Linux?

I've backed up many of the Steam games I had installed in Windows. Am I able to use these on Linux or do I need to re-download them?
