Mark Zuckerberg Visits Mar-a-Lago After Trump Threatened Him With Imprisonment
  • This is true and specifically for sentence in question. It's almost correct already (and I would argue an acceptable use). We'd just colloquially order it the other way round. "Brothers and Sisters". Let's not go down the rabbit hole of potentially why that may be and pretend it's just alphabetical order...

  • X's Objection to the Onion Buying InfoWars Is a Reminder You Do Not Own Your Social Media Accounts
  • And twitter / x most likely have a similar rule. And musk could have achieved similar by just banning the account.

There's no reason to give it to Jones. He doesn't own any of the applicable ip any more. Maybe there's an argument if he tried that.

  • X's Objection to the Onion Buying InfoWars Is a Reminder You Do Not Own Your Social Media Accounts
  • Now see, I don't like it but the simplest thing would be for musk to ban the account right now.

He's not circumventing anything then. Ownership of the account was transferred, that twitter, a private entity chose to ban it is their business.

It's not worth arguing about. The website and ip is the juicy thing, being able to make satirical info wars programming and products is where it is at. Maybe, maybe there would be a case if musk allowed Jones to make a new account with the same name or otherwise handed it to him.

  • No. If valve cancel your steam account, you lose your games and they owe you a big fat zero.

Same goes for all accounts with assets attached.

Sad to say, but in this case it is musk's platform and his rules.

If he wants to go home and take his ball too. Tough luck.

Doesn't seem right, but it is legal and already happened on multiple platforms multiple times.

  • Putin threatens UK with new ballistic missile as Ukraine war escalates
  • It would make sense to take out the UK first. In recent history, the rest of Europe just roll on their back and surrender or get taken by force.

Take out your only realistic competition first. Genius move I'd say.

  • Putin threatens UK with new ballistic missile as Ukraine war escalates
  • We moved into a home county. I grew up in London, but it's just too expensive. We could have gotten a place there, but it would not be a good one, not be in a good area and likely be beyond our personal budget (the banks would give us the money, we wouldn't accept it).

Not regretting it at all really.

  • Putin threatens UK with new ballistic missile as Ukraine war escalates
  • Even if there's financial concerns in Europe. We DO have reasonably strong airforces, modern weaponry and several nuclear enabled countries. I think it would be a big risk to take in their current position.

My main concern is Trump tries to coerce Europe to leave Ukraine to fight alone. It all depends on how much in Putin's pocket he is.

  • No, this is the thing. Compared to UK prices it was ridiculously cheap. In fact even when you add the higher expected tip it was cheap. And it was actually very nice. Just, so much food!

  • Putin threatens UK with new ballistic missile as Ukraine war escalates
  • The thing is, if NATO is worth anything at all. Hitting a NATO country would bring a lot of declarations in a very short order. It would get very WW3, very quickly.

  • Putin threatens UK with new ballistic missile as Ukraine war escalates
  • Well it would likely put them up, seeing as it would remove supply but, if you know Londoners you'll know it won't do a damn thing about demand.

  • Two-thirds of Americans think Trump tariffs will lead to higher prices, poll says
  • So, at least a 1/3rd of them voted for higher prices? I mean it's fine if that's what they wanted I guess.

  • Anon visits the Philippines
  • Many many years ago. I did some work in Texas. We go into this sit down place. Now, having been caught by the huge portions a previous evening I'm cautious. I just order a chicken burger. The waitress is all like "Oh are you sure, just the chicken burger on its own?" I'm thinking, oh well maybe things are normal size at this place. I order some fries to go with it.

Some time later the chicken burger arrives completely filling the full size plate it came on, and the fries came on an entirely separate plate.

I'm not a small guy, but I could not eat all that.

  • Zelensky says Ukraine will lose war if US cuts funding
  • Yes they are. Check the % of GDP. We're pulling our weight, pretty much as much as we can. More really considering we mostly don't prioritise defence as much as the US does.

  • Zelensky says Ukraine will lose war if US cuts funding
  • Europe ARE doing a lot. We just don't have as much of an aging stockpile of weapons as the US does. Also when turned into financial contribution you need to convert it to a percentage of GDP.

Well, turns out someone made that data available.

    https://www.statista.com/statistics/1303450/bilateral-aid-to-ukraine-in-a-percent-of-donor-gdp/
    https://www.ifw-kiel.de/topics/war-against-ukraine/ukraine-support-tracker/

Europe most certainly are doing their part.

However, that's not the real fear. The USA is going into a new presidential term, a term where the house, senate and the supreme court are going to likely side with the president on most things.

The USA can put significant pressure on European countries. If we're to believe Trump is really working in Putin's favour then, as well as stopping US aid, there's not too much stopping the US pressuring Europe from doing the same. That is my real fear. I think without US support this is hard, very hard for Europe to fill that gap. But, we certainly can still try.

  • What you rather?
  • I've yet to have an actual game dislike wayland. But you're right, there is always the option to swap.

  • What you rather?
  • I thought that too, and things got better when I set 1x scaling on both (it was 1/1.5) but it's not stopped the problem entirely.

  • What you rather?
  • The privacy stuff? I've seen it happen in 11 for sure. I always check after an update now out of habit. But, not seen it in a while.

Resetting dual boot stuff? Before EFI/UEFI it would happen on most windows updates. It would just overwrite the boot record in a totally arrogant fuck you to whatever was already there. But since EFi/UEFI it plays nice with other operating systems generally.

  • Fluffing machine.
