Big bang theory makes a hell of a lot of sense, and currently explains CMBR extremely well. The cause of the big bang is obviously still unknown (if that is even a reasonable question.) Not liking, or understanding, the theory is not reason to dismiss it. "Spewing information from digits of pi?" This is pure stoner talk. Digit of pi are arbitrary, and are different in different number bases: decimal, binary, hexadecimal, etc. Numbers are also not things in physical reality, only conceptual concepts.
From your properties of a graviton:
- Size is unrelated to being detectable. In addition, in particle physics, size is a bit fuzzy, since all particles are waves, and "size" might be defined by the wavelength of the particle.
- Gravitons are proposed as the force carrier for the gravitational force. But possibly don't exist since Einstein's theory demonstrates that mass curves spacetime instead, and gravity is not an actual force, and thus no force carrier required. This contradiction is one problem with merging quantum theory and general relativity.
- Sure, if a graviton was emitted, dynamics could be worked out to determine where the emitting mass is, similar to emitted photons indicating where the object that emitted the photon is.
- Vector directions are arbitrary. A vector is not a thing, but a mathematical construct used to define magnitudes and directions. Negative vector is only an instruction to reverse the direction of that vector.
Particles exhibiting intelligence? Define what you mean by intelligence. How does a photon "try to survive"? Current understanding of particles is that they obey very predictable rules governed by quantum theory, which doesn't indicate any intelligence or decision making from the particle.
Finally, for your use of gravitons:
- This could be measured in a lab. One could measure a particle decay through an unknown mechanism. As far as I'm aware, this has not been observed.
- Mass is gravitationally attracted to mass. Sure. Gravitons are the proposed force carrier for gravitational force. If they existed, this is how they might work.
You have an interest in physics, which I applaud, but you should read some introductory physics textbooks, or enroll in undergraduate introductory physics classes, and master the fundamentals (Newtonian mechanics, classical electrodynamics, quantum, stat/mech).
I would argue yes. There's definitely some high points of the new expansion. Though might depend specifically what you enjoy about wow. In general, quality of life in the game is much better with the warband feature. I enjoy the storyline. The raid is good. Delves are great for solo progression. But Mythic+ is in the worst state it's been in for years.

I'm into all the classic swedish melodeth bands and there were a ton of really good shows in the 2000s. Perhaps one of ny favorites of those was when Dark tranquillity, Insomnium, and swallow the sun toured together. I think There was a 4th swedish band on that tour but cant remember who. Maybe soilwork? Or maybe it was soilwork and not DT.
I saw DT and soilwork a zillion times but only saw insomnium and swallow the sun that once.

Burning Wheel has one good system in it: the beliefs, instincts, and traits are awesome. This could compliment or replace bonds. Otherwise though Burning Wheel is a giant complicated mess of rules that are completely opposite of the rules-light point of dungeon world.

No. You don't manually place apps on homescreen. I have it configured to only show one row of favorites, which are categorized as "pinned - manually sorted". Than the rest of my favorites are seen when i swipe to app drawer.
Can do homescreen icons. It has a widgets "pane". You don't place them on the home screen but put all widgets together than swipe to widgets. You can configure kvaesitso so it's not too different from stock android experience.
I have 5 "favorite" apps at bottom of screen, above the search bar, similar to stock android.
I swipe left for my app drawer, which allows for more pinned favorites above full list.
I swipe up for all my widgets.
Swipe down for notifications, like stock.
Swipe right for my camera app.
I too would be put off if it had to be used that way. But it can be used as a regular icon tapping launcher - it has a regular app drawer - which is how i use it. I don't think it should market itself as a "search-focused" launcher.
Catwalk for neighbor's cat
So our neighbor's cat has been visiting us for a while, so I decided to build this ramp so that she could more easily get into and out of our yard. I'm not much of a woodworker, but was happy with how this turned out.
It's made almost entirely from cedar fence posts. Nearly 18 feet long (3 fence posts end to end with the dog ear tip cut off). Ripped cedar planks into 3 for a frame/support to prevent flexing. Posts are pine 2x4, and go 18 inches into the ground, which was the majority of the effort, since our ground is like cement...
Propellers and time warp
So I spent quite a few hours getting an electric quadcopter together to acquire some kerbal surface scan missions that were far away. I finally got the thing flying super stable. However it's top speed is only about 40 m/s. Going to x2 time warp instantly makes the propellers move radially outward and then simply explode. Does anyone know of a way to successfully time warp with propellers and rotors? I tried moving the blades radially inward into the rotor a bit and turning on rigid attachment available under advanced tweakables. Neither worked.
Fishing from ponds.
My starting evac shelter was close to a small pond that had fish in it. I early on created some fish traps from gallon jugs and have been successfully fishing it. It is now summer day 66 and when I activated my reloaded fish trap as I had been doing regularly I received the message "You doubt you'll have much luck catching fish here."
What would be the explanation for why I received the message? Did I fish out all the fish? Do the ponds dry up? I looked at the water and it says "shallow water" though I have no idea if it was shallow water when I was successfully fishing as I never looked at the water tiles.
TIL: Auto Detect graphics setting fails to detect graphics card
Upon logging in yesterday, my fps was complete garbage. Spent several hours trying different wine/proton versions. Eventually after some internet searching, it seems that WoW's in game graphics setting for Auto Detect graphics card wasn't actually using my graphics card. Changed this to my graphics card instead of auto-detect, and fixed immediately...
not sure exactly what changed. I think I had it on auto-detect forever with no issues, though I'm not certain, as I've never even really looked at that option in the graphics settings.
I run linux, so maybe its a wine/dxvk specific issue.
Welding rods.
Holy cow building a car from scratch takes a lot of this stuff. This is the first game i've ever tried to build a car. I'm scrounging every house for light disposable batteries to craft the rods. Fortunately most houses have at least one in a flashlight. Is there another good reliable source for welding rods or wire?
Gnome Files - how to change default terminal for "open in terminal"
How does one change the terminal that Gnome Files uses when opening a directory in terminal using "Open in Terminal"? I'm trying to change the default to foot.
All my searching has led to

Bash script to move focused container to new empty workspace
So I migrated from i3 to sway. Had a python script that I found on the internets that did this, and really like the functionality. Figured I'd give an attempt at making my own script in bash. My programming skills and bash scripting aren't great, so I had chatGPT help me with some syntax. Thought others might be interested so am sharing here.

Unattended upgrades - daily sudo apt update?
New debian user here. I'm using sway and have a script in my waybar config to look for upgrades and indicate if any are available. However, it typically doesn't find anything because I first need to run a sudo apt update first.
I don't really want to figure out someway to do a sudo through this script and was curious how gnome finds updates without me needing to enter a password.
It looks like I can use unattended upgrades to do the apt update.

though I don't want it to do upgrades until I do a sudo apt upgrade after being notified of upgrades. I created a 02periodic file in /etc/apt/apt.config.d as indicated, but I only included the lines

Will this run an apt update every day for me? Is there any issue I'm unaware of in doing this? Thanks for any help!
