If you didn't know, this one part of a series where these two characters try various magic fountains with different effects searching for the fountain of youth. It's a bit funnier in context because it's subverting the expectation of something weird happening when they drink the water.
I'm sure he's about to be appointed secretary of something he's unqualified for any day now.
Gamefreak definitely used this as the inspiration for the Snivy line.
And not only do we also wear shorts in the winter, we refuse to use umbrellas no matter how hard it's pouring outside.
Didn't it come out after Vice City?
It's so dry, how can you even tell it's a Tricholoma?
It's a picture I found on Google, I messed with the balance and updated my post so it's somewhat better.
Try wrapping your head around colors used in taxonomic keys for a bit.
Atheniella Adonis (PNW)
My reasoning for this being A. Adonis: To start with it's a pink mycenoid mushroom of which there are three documented species in the PNW.
It can't be Mycena Monticola because it wasn't found at a high enough elevation for that species (they only grow at over 2000 feet hence the name Monticola meaning "mountain dwelling").
The gills are not marginate (having a different color on the edges) which rules out the other pink species Mycena Rosella.
That leaves us with A. Adonis.
That's some gorgeous color on those loaves.
Who knew Nessie had a Shin Godzilla laser.
I skip the first two blinds for way less than that, I frequently regret it but that doesn't stop me from trying.
I agree with hypholoma but fasciculare doesn't have white fibrils on the stipe like some of those do. Dispersum is a better match IMO.
Talk to people, organize with your community, start movements, take over political parties.
Where's its golden crown? Is that a sexually dimorphic trait or something?
It's already established and a lot of highly knowledgeable local mycologists already hang out there and have no interest in switching to another platform.
That's consistent with Hypholoma, maybe next time.
I share that hope, I've been trying to post to !mycology@mander.xyz pretty regularly.
They have a stiff chalky texture that's easy to recognize if you know it but throwing them at a tree to see if they shatter like a snowball is a great way for beginners to confirm that they've found a Russula.
In addition to the reasons for given for Russula in the other comment: LBMs tend to be deadly poisonous and aren't that interesting to look at so nobody cares about figuring out which one is which except professional researchers.
Russula at least have colorful caps, choice-edible species, and are fun to huck at trees.

I love overnight ferments but it's so hard to keep them from overproofing in the summer
They're still tasty but the boules are too short to make decent sandwiches with.
I used less starter, more salt, and a shorter proof time than the recipe called for but they still collapsed. I think I need to cut the amount of starter more aggressively.
