And this story is about conscription in Korea that causes fascism. Do you like fascism?
Lol are you going to act like you don't know that Israel's conscription is part of the reason they are committing a bunch of war crimes right now? Sharing borders is no excuse to force military service and results in fascism.
The Post like many media organizations are all part of the same intelligence agency propaganda organizations of which rely heavily on Israel's spyware and data collection tech companies. They see criticism of Israel as someone hurting the company they work for, which puts them in fear of losing their job or income.
I guess I could swallow an SD card if I had to. 😮
Do you even know what is happening in Gaza & Lebanon right now?
Since Satya Nadella became CEO, Microsoft has advertised itself as a pro-opensource company despite never open sourcing its primary consumer-facing products like Windows & Edge. This initially attracted a lot of open source developers that Microsoft gladly hired, to turn around and turn their OS into a spyware organization.
Microsoft learned that if they collected a bunch of data and shared it with the intelligence agencies, while making their OS a telemetry warehouse that tracks nearly everything you do, then they'd be able to attract and onboard the entire US government while making it nearly impossible for them to switch away in the future. At this point forensic companies aren't shy that Windows is the worst choice for privacy.
Can't say the signs weren't already there:

Maybe next time they shouldn't wait for a rape.
Yeah... The military conscription service AKA fascism. How long before Israel escalates a war in the Middle East and Americans are conscripted to carry out Trump's fascism? I'm guessing the bone spurs argument only works on wealthy people.
What DE? Hyprland is pretty awesome if you haven't checked it out already. Sway also had a new release recently.
LOL... is he hiding cause of an exodus, or because of the bot farm he ran for the elections?
128TB SD cards sounds awesome if they perform well. Now if we could just get a 128TB microSD that performs close to a PCIe I'll be swallowing my OS in a digestion proof container if necessary.
Embrace, extend, and extinguish. They literally documented it as being their strategy. Now the justice department is chasing Google who despite being bad, at least provides enough source code where people have created privacy-focused derivatives of Android. I'd much rather see them go after Microsoft first but the government relies on Microsoft, and Microsoft relies on our tax dollars going to the government so they can get them.
Good job Joe Biden. May this be your legacy forever. The fucking Genocidal bitch of Israel that gave us fascism.
Hitler was a single person but it was a country at the time that enabled and spread hate. I agree though we should call them Nazis.
Israel has become the ultimate Karen
Does it though? I guess people like the idea of what they imagine Democrats can be again, or become, but that ship sailed a long time ago. Facebook rebranded to Meta after the Cambridge Analytica scandal and that seemed to have worked well.
I'm going to do my best to give some real advice here. Maybe you'll take offense or maybe not. The reality is that most people are going to put a value on you for how you value yourself. Academia is overwhelmed with a negative culture of seniority and elitistism. What this results in is a lot of unhappy people that believe working for little to even no pay is a acceptable. They get so caught up in the system thinking that it is normal to have people acting superior to them and putting them down and they even start to idealize one day being the elitist that values their own self worth on how much they can put others down. It messes you up big time.
Next, if you're desperate for work then you can't let it show too much or people won't respect you and the less you're likely to get a good paying job. There is nothing wrong with being a go getter, but you have to be organized and confident. If you let a person or company influence your ability to make smart and rational decisions just because they have money, it ends up hurting you in the long run.
The world is full of yesmen who just wait for commands. They are dispensable and a dime a dozen. Although it isn't fair, you also can't realistically expect that people won't basically test to see how moldable you are and use that to their advantage. If you bend whenever they ask they'll make you bend until you break.
Saying all that I can reasonably say the job market isn't utter garbage for graduates or even non graduates. It is utter garbage for people that have let the world beat them down and that operate in the confounds of others have money and they respect that more than they respect themselves.
Once you build some confidence in a skill and know what you're good, what you want to do and believe in your own value, what you're worth and capable of accomplishing then it changes the dynamics. People respect that and you also become a much more valuable asset.
So to summarize, stop playing by the rules that you have set for yourself and others have led you up believe. I know it isn't always immediately feasible. Sometimes you really can't survive and need something to at least provide food and shelter, but don't stop there and don't be afraid to take some risk. Thst can involve telling people no and explaining why, being authentic even if it makes you vulnerable, and treating a boss or CEO like a peer.
You can be the leader, the consultant who they need more than you need them, adaptable and diverse ready to do hard work but has a strong grasp on managing the entire project or an entire company yourself for that mstter. If you like teaching then demand the let you record the lessons and work with an online program snd platform to earn other income. If they ask that they you sign an employment agreement you don't feel comfortable with, then don't. Like I said... The more you don't immediately agree to things just cause others have money, the more they'll respect you and the more you'll end up getting paid.
They just lost to Trump cause they couldn't bother listening to voters. I love your optimism, but I say its time we kick em to the curb and get some real progressives.
Yeah they be swallowing each other's semen alright
I'm voting Jill. Kamala has said nothing of subsistence on Gaza and her supporters cognitive dissonance has turned into willful ignorance.
I received my ballot a week ago and I couldn't bring myself to fill it out yet. I'm scared of another Trump presidency if that is what happens, but I can't keep supporting Democrats that have become what they claim to hate. I know if I vote for her that I'm sending a message that they can keep using the same playbook to move closer to fascism and corporatocracy.
They use their influence & power to eliminate opposition, and their donor money to astroturf social media. They censor other voices online, and spread lies about other people (Jill Stein) without evidence. They gaslight and claim you're fascist for telling the truth and blame others for their mistakes. They'll use your money to pay for genocide while turning a blind eye to help themselves, but make a thousand excused why they can't help you.
They don't deserve to win. Trump will be bad and I'm scared about what will happen if he wins, but you and I are not to blame. All they had to do was be truthful, transparent, empathetic and genuine—but their lust for power got in the way.

President Joe Biden has dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, a stunning decision that will send Democrats scrambling to find a replacement to take on former President Donald Trump in November.
CrowdStrike Isn't the Real Problem
This is an unpopular opinion, and I get why – people crave a scapegoat. CrowdStrike undeniably pushed a faulty update demanding a low-level fix (booting into recovery). However, this incident lays bare the fragility of corporate IT, particularly for companies entrusted with vast amounts of sensitive personal information.
Robust disaster recovery plans, including automated processes to remotely reboot and remediate thousands of machines, aren't revolutionary. They're basic hygiene, especially when considering the potential consequences of a breach. Yet, this incident highlights a systemic failure across many organizations. While CrowdStrike erred, the real culprit is a culture of shortcuts and misplaced priorities within corporate IT.
Too often, companies throw millions at vendor contracts, lured by flashy promises and neglecting the due diligence necessary to ensure those solutions truly fit their needs. This is exacerbated by a corporate culture where CEOs, vice presidents, and managers are often more easily swayed by vendor kickbacks, gifts, and lavish trips than by investing in innovative ideas with measurable outcomes.
This misguided approach not only results in bloated IT budgets but also leaves companies vulnerable to precisely the kind of disruptions caused by the CrowdStrike incident. When decision-makers prioritize personal gain over the long-term health and security of their IT infrastructure, it's ultimately the customers and their data that suffer.
Anyone else have their account terminated or got through to support?
About a month ago I got a notification that my subscription had been refunded and then another email that my account was terminated:
> You are receiving this email because we have identified suspicious activity on your account. In order to protect our platform, we have refunded and canceled your subscription. You will no longer have access to ChatGPT Plus service.
This was after using the service for two months. I emailed and sent them a message almost immediately since I could prove my identity, but they haven't responded back in almost a month. Their customer support appears to be non-existent.
I keep wanting to sign back up, but I'm still pissed about it. I'm guessing it is because I used a virtual card when I signed up and they don't stay active for very long so I have to create a new one for each month of service. Usually I just get a failed payment notification and update my payment info with a new one which pulls from my bank account.
It sucks not being able to use the service though because it was so helpful at helping with programming tasks and Bard isn't nearly as good. Has anyone had any luck getting through to support?
The Clark County Council unanimously approved body-worn cameras for the sheriff's office at its regular meeting Wednesday.
Glad to see some improvement. I still don't trust the department, but they're making progress.
Vancouver Police Chief Jeff Mori released the footage of three Vancouver police officers on Friday.
Such a tragic incident! Glad to see the police wearing body cams though.
