NEVER! LOL. Slimy brown oilwater with random dinosaur organs does not slap!
White gravy is vastly superior, and even better is "grayish gravy" that follows the same recipe but is made from month-old bacon grease in a refrigerated crisco can.

Agree 100%. Almost all of traditional American Thanksgiving fare is meh anyway.
All the ways to prepare turkey to make it better are just an equation that approaches, but never reaches, the quality of an average rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.
Stuffing is just cornbread that's gone wrong and was likely finished off in the bird's asshole.
Canned cranberry sauce is okay. Any attempts to go beyond that are actively making things worse.
Anything involving giblets is nasty.
Texas has done so very, very many things wrong over the years, but allowing tamales to be an acceptable thanksgiving dish is not one of them.
Becky Chambers FTW. Palate-cleansing Sci-Fi.
I feel reasonably confident there was a list that had to be scrapped at the very last moment, once someone actually did that math.
Offensive coordinator Frank Smith was asked about Tua’s skills when it comes to getting the ball to places where his eyes aren’t.
I'm pretty sure there's just so many cracks in Tua's skull at this point that he can see through it like the slats of a wooden fence.
Either he had some perfectly color-matched work done later in life, which seems pretty unlikely since they're all "I'm a 60-year-old large-animal veterinarian with decent teeth, who the fuck needs whitening", or my guy just had some really bad luck with his baby molars coming out late but all at once.
Fun couterfactual to consider: how many MPs would "the colonies" have needed to blunt popular support for the revolution?
Probably can't go very high, but maybe one per charter? If not that high (Scotland only had 45, I think), then what would have been enough "representation" to preclude the American elites from making a compelling case, or what paths to personal status would have tempted enough of them that there wouldn't have been a critical mass of will and resources?
The British colonized the Americas, particularly North America, very differently than Spain and France did, but didn't seem to think of the purpose or integration of colonies as any different.
I love many spectator sports, and pretty mainstream ones at that… but, ummm, have you met many of my fellow sports fans? The reaction described by this meme is, shall we say, understandable.

My Score: 2380
As a kid, I was burned by the 7800 and the XEGS (though if my parents had just realized what a disk drive would have done, I might have held off asking for a PC for several years), but I was still kind of a sucker for Atari stuff and got a clearance Jaguar for $40 or $50. I had AvP, and one of either Doom or Wolfenstein 3D (I played both on PC, so my memory is fuzzy here). AvP was flawed but the twist it put on the formula was pretty cool, and it was half-decently made.

For my fellow olds, Fort Moore used to be Fort Benning, and if American Cold War adventurism is often questionable in motive and frequently despicable in practice, at least Moore didn't literally, explicitly fight for the preservation of slavery.

The bigger issue here is about base security and/or corruption, because...

Some of the younger folks won't understand this vibe, but older folks know what an exhausting beatdown they're in for if Florida goes from mildly surprising to consistently good. Our entire cultural DNA is based on a man who's basically a hillbilly Bugs Bunny.
I assume that chilling or not, Oregon is pretty happy with Lanning right now.
For USC, I think there's some truth (though potentially more clear-eyed than Sooner fans would like to admit) to the idea that Riley didn't want to deal with the SEC from Norman. In a normal human world, that makes sense, but CFB head coaches are nutjobs in a constant pressure cooker, and decision making that comes off as normal is probably a competitive disadvantage. Dude is on the Kingsbury track, just after a higher level of CFB success.
Christ, what a disaster the Jaguar was.
Atari's reasoning that the 32-bit Tom and Jerry chips work in tandem to add up to a 64-bit system was ridiculed in a mini-editorial by Electronic Gaming Monthly, which commented that "If Sega did the math for the Sega Saturn the way Atari did the math for their 64-bit Jaguar system, the Sega Saturn would be a 112-bit monster of a machine."
The system was notoriously difficult to program for, because its multi-processor design is complex, development tools were released in an unfinished state, and the hardware had crippling bugs.
In 2006, IGN editor Craig Harris rated the original Jaguar controller as the worst game controller ever, criticizing the unwarranted recycling of the 1980s "phone keypad" format and the small number of action buttons, which he found particularly unwise given that Atari was actively trying to court fighting game fans to the system.
Also just a reminder that the Spartans were, as far as historians can tell, just “mostly okay” at military stuff for most of their history, and they were kinda bad at meaningful management of an Ancient Greek polis economy, but they were excellent at oppression, self-aggrandizement, and propaganda.
Sorry. I’m an OG on Team 30 Rock so I’m legally and morally barred from ever watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Them’s the rules. 🤷

EDIT: annnnnd two crashes on the x86_64 AppImage in twenty minutes, both when attempting to start a sketch on a face. Could easily be my Kubuntu install, but... sigh.
EDIT2: Seeing that some issues might be related to changes to the Appimage framework. I'll need to see if I need some system updates. Windows version is running smoother, though my middle mouse button stopped working for some reason until restarting the app. If you haven't tried FreeCAD in a while, give it a shot; you may be pleasantly surprised. If you have, it's not a vastly different experience than recent daily builds or Ondsel (RIP).

Unexpected generation gap
I am mid-40s. My daughter is 11. I take her to school, among other driving things, and usually play NPR. Whenever she needs to refer to what she's hearing -- usually to ask if I'll turn it off so she can pull up some godawful thing where a random Youtuber squawks discordant lyrics to a Pokémon video game score -- she calls it a podcast. I've stopped correcting her, particularly since most of the "shows" release as podcasts by the next day anyway.
Ondsel shutting down
After operating for almost two years, Ondsel has made the difficult decision to cease operations and close down.
Not that it's much to brag about, or that I'm rare for having done so, but I definitely called this one. I am really not sure how they ever really thought FreeCAD just needed Cloud PDM to make a dent in the commercial market. Hell, part of me wonders if the devs actually believed that, or if this was all a low-grade Robin Hood grift to plow some VC resources into FreeCAD for a couple of years. 🤣
It's happening again! FOSDEM 2025 has been announced and, like the previous years, the FPA are thrilled to organise once again our world-famous FreeCAD events. These will take place in Brussels, fr…
29 January 2025 in Brussels. Probably the next good candidate for a 1.0 release event as well. Latest blog has them down to four release blockers, though that number can certainly drift back up as well.
