My big, big boy Dusty's fur looks like gills when I do this and I love it.
He's not quite as interested as I am, but that's okay

chemical_cutthroat @lemmy.world That's from rolls of excess skin, when you pull, the fur stays in the same shape, but the skin beneath flattens. Could be overweight, could just be older loose skin.

Honebadgers can almost completely turn around even if you have a firm hold on it, making it hard to pin down.
It also provides protection from getting clawed.
