Not that this place needs a nudge, but a little gem in Addison is Lefty's. My go-to family owned restaurant that's been a staple for me for almost two decades. It's tiny and it doesn't hurt to get a rez, but pound for pound it's a great, reasonably priced ($$-$$$) night out. They are not going to wow with a huge bar or huge menu, but everything is done well. It's well loved by the locals and rotates through some famous people in the reg. Check it out.
I have friends that love Leftys. I haven't been since the old days when they still allowed smoking inside and it was unbearable. Guess i need to try it again. Another great little place in Addison is Addison Cafe. It's a small French place at beltline and Montfort. Cute, great service, and a really outstanding French onion soup.
We drove past it for years. My mom was in the hospital, i was sad, stressed, and just needed some comfort food. We stopped in and their French onion soup was perfect. Now it's in our date night rotation. My husband knows to bring me that or a popover from Kenny's when I'm sick.
Never heard of Lefty's. Unfortunately, with 2 little kids, I'm more likely to be found at McDonalds, or The Magic Time Machine. Maybe we can find a cheap babysitter for a date night sooner or later.
Oh haven’t heard of them but will check them out. There’s a hidden gem in Richardson called The Fifth. Really solid contemporary Americana style but not too expensive and always on point!
