There's a difference here.
Processes is HOW you do something. We have lots of processes. Like don't deploy on Fridays. Don't break something and disappear. Merge requests require another set of eyes. Etc.
Its all bundled into the "Be an adult". It's NOT a process, it's a state of mind - a working agreement.
If you need that level of micromanaging where specific details needs to be codified, then this department isn't for you.
I trust people not to be dumb fucks. And those who are get let go. The rest of the department is pretty happy to be working with competent adults.
This can sound racist but I don't care.
I want country flags on people's reviews so I can filter them.
There's some "Overwhelmingly Positive" games only to find it was highly reviewed in China and the game is just a reskinned gacha game.
I saw AC Valhalla was on sale and shrugged. I usually would buy a Ubisoft game and around $10-15. But fuck that.
Rather wait until they're bankrupt and someone unfucks their games.
When I came into my job, my role was to create a new engineering department. I was inheriting 4 engineers from other departments. The company wanted me to create a "Working agreement" for this entire department, and gave me some examples. They were full of extra micromanage-y level things. Bullshit like how long bathroom breaks are, and how you conduct yourself in a meeting.
I wrote a working agreement just like the meme above (except instead of "Don't be a Dick" it was "Be an Adult").
Got the engineers to agree, on boarded 20 more engineers, and two years later, we have the highest happiness rating/productivity in the company and the CTO wants to know my secret.
I loved it when Amazon, Google, and Netflix got into the gaming industry and tried to throw billions of dollars and their startup software expertise to "revolutionize" game studios.
Only way for 100% certainty is to bone them all. 🏳️🌈
How the country votes has nothing to do with actual conservatives melting down
I have thanksgiving with only my wife and kids.
Then I have Friendsgiving, with a few friends and their family.
I haven't seen my family in years except for video calls. Same for my kids, and wife and kids. Not that I dislike them. Or would be opposed to them staying in the same town.
My family members are toxic, and after I moved, we never bothered.
I think more people should do that.
Like when we called Conservatives weird and they had a literal meltdown?
But what if it's in the positive? Damn girl I like your fat ass. But I can see it being used negatively.
I like Big Dick Energy though. Can we keep that?
Not like this Jurassic Park Scientist man. 😭
Not like this.
The whole "Don't stick your dick in crazy" is this woman in a nutshell.
Immersion. Not like half-ass, but pure immersion.
Cross over to Mexico (or Spain if you're European).
Spit on a soldier.
Your stuff, gone.
Your jailmate wants to kill you.
Youre gonna learn Spanish real fast, hombre.
Maybe in more fragile.
I vomited a bit in my mouth. I can taste this picture.
There was that meme that I read that I can't remember but paraphrasing.
How straight people will never ever be 100% confident they're straight. But if you sex a person of the same gender and don't like it, only then can you with no uncertainty, be 100% confident you're straight.
Is Drake alt-right? I just thought he was a pedo.
My wife and I were talking about this.
Being a little dick - weak, shriveled, requires blood to harden
Being a pussy - strong, elastic, can expel a baby.
"my 9/11 was when I escaped the torture clown."
Because when laws and policies are first made with the assumption people aren't assholes. We literally believed people will do the right thing.
All the addendums were to fix asshole behaviors.
Hey buddy! I may be woke. And I may be gay! And... What was the third thing you called me?
This isn't surprising and I am reasonably sure Ubisoft isn't the only company that wants this data hidden.
Fandom Pulse is reporting (paywall), according to a "Ubisoft insider", that the beleaguered video game company is pushing back on Steam to try and get certain data points removed from public view. This would include data points like peak and concurrent users. The insider continues by saying that Star Wars Outlaws has still failed to surpass the 2 million units sold point having been released for almost 3 months. That's a far cry (get it?) from the 5 million in the first month some investors were hoping for at launch.
The report also alleges that Ubisoft isn't alone. Other companies would also like Valve to stop reporting numbers that they'd rather paint their own way on investor calls, or just dodge entirely like Ubisoft has done on recent calls where the lackluster performance of Star Wars Outlaws has come up.
Microsoft Confirms Windows 11 Update Kills Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Other Ubisoft Games
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 version 24H2 is accidentally killing Ubisoft games such as Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and more.
As reported by VGC, Microsoft updated its support website to reveal it has placed a temporary block on Windows 11 for users with those games installed.
"After installing Windows 11, version 24H2, you might encounter issues with some Ubisoft games," Microsoft said. "These games might become unresponsive while starting, loading or during active gameplay.
"In some cases, users might receive a black screen. The affected games are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
Domestic dispute call left a 2-month old dead from a trigger happy officer. Another news article quoted "It looked like her head exploded"
The woman, Talisa Coombs, told Delaney she’d just gotten into what she alleged was a physical altercation with her granddaughter’s mother, Maria Pike, and called 911. Independence police’s response to that 911 call ended with the shooting death of Pike, 34, and her two month old daughter, Destinii Hope — who were identified Tuesday by authorities from the Police Involved Investigative Team, or PIIT, a team of eastern Jackson County detectives called in to investigate police shootings and use-of-force incidents.
The officer who fired his weapon was “a long-tenured veteran of law enforcement,” Dustman said. That officer and another two who were at the scene are on administrative leave.

Las Vegas police kill victim of home invasion, Brandon Durham, who called 911 for help
Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting in which an officer killed a victim of a home invasion who had called 911 for help.
Officers showed up at the home and found a man struggling with a woman over a knife. An officer opened fire and struck the man, killing him at the scene. Only later did they discover the man who was killed lived at the home and was struggling to fend off the woman who had broken into his home.
Police say Brandon Durham, 43, had called 911 and reported multiple people outside his home shooting, then told the 911 operator that someone had entered his home through the front and back doors and he was locking himself in the bathroom.
He also told the 911 operator that he was home with his 15-year-old daughter, according to police. Officers kicked open the door after arriving on scene and hearing someone screaming as well as damage to vehicles parked outside the property, police said.
“He wants to be seen as having say in everything (even if he doesn’t),” one person in Trump’s orbit said.

Canadian provincial police officer, Sgt. Sébastien Plouffe Threw Away Dead Teen's Skull After Mom Complained About Police Misconduct. Gets Two Week Suspension
A Canadian provincial officer allegedly threw away part of an accident victim's skull to spite the victim's mother, resulting in a 15-day suspension for the official.
Sgt. Sébastien Plouffe threw part of the 14-year-old motorcycle accident victim's skull into a ravine in 2021 after being chastised by the victim's mother for the way law enforcement handled the scene of the accident.
Plouffe, who lied about his actions on a report, admitted the truth a few days later when the family attempted to retrieve the skull part in order to cremate the victim. He returned to the location of the ravine and attempted to search for the missing piece of bone, but was unsuccessful. A larger search was conducted at the scene with additional officials, and the skull part was eventually located.
Chief Larry Clay Jr of Fayette County, West Virginia, accused of paying $100 to rape a teen — and trying to cover it up.
The original on Washington Post is paywalled. And my usual solutions of bypassing wasn't working. Sorry for the MSN wrapper.
> In Gauley Bridge,” prosecutors told the jury, “Larry Clay was the law.”
> C.H. had reported that her stepmother sold her to be raped for $100 when she was 17 years old. The buyer, she told the sheriff’s department, wasn’t just anyone — it was Police Chief Larry Clay. While he was in uniform and on duty. The first time, against his department-issued vehicle. The second, inside a police office.
> Clay, 55, and the stepmother, 27, were both charged with sex trafficking of a minor.
> When Clay spent his shifts doing nothing but parking his cruiser and waiting for speeding cars, Pack was asked to counsel Clay on taking more initiative. When Clay hastily pulled a gun on a hiking tourist, Pack was told to coach him on being less impulsive.
> The family was struggling to keep the electricity and water paid. Then, her stepmother approached her with a way of getting cash, an idea from Clay.
> “He brought it up to her that he was sexually interested in me,” C.H. said. “We needed the money for bills.”
> C.H. tried to describe it without feeling it. Her head being forced down. Then her body on the hood of the chief’s car. “He was raping me,” C.H. testified. “Did you say anything to him during this?” Herrald asked. “Too scared,” C.H. said, balling her hands in her lap.
> She testified that she saw Clay give Naylor-Legg the cash. She would later learn it was $100.

During a Pennsylvania town hall last week, Elon Musk claimed that he now believes in the "teachings of Christ."
The race for the White House is reaching local classrooms and one lesson has some parents calling "bias."
The controversy is over a two-page document that was handed out to classrooms at Kapolei Middle School.
It broke down where the U.S. presidential candidates — Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican former President Donald Trump — stand on the issues.
The state Department of Education confirms the document was put together by a group of teachers at the school who simplified the information in a candidate comparison article in the New York Times.
The material given out to students lists six issues.
CRIME
Harris: “Gives money to police” Trump: “Sends soldiers to cities”
DEMOCRACY
Harris: “Wants to keep our country a democracy” Trump: “Tried to overturn the 2020 election
IMMIGRATION
Harris: “Hires more people to watch the border” Harris: “Limits how many people can move to the U.S. Trump: “Finds and catches people in the U.S. illegally” Trump: “Takes children away from their parents”
