Guys, what did you buy during the Steam autumn sale?
  • I bought that Saturday morning at full price. No regerts. In 5 days, I dumped about 30 hours into it.

  • Is it possible to verify if that's actually the case?

  • And think about the impact the whaling industry had on these environments back in the 1800 and 1900s. Who knows how much damage we did and how many potential animals we caused the extinction of by doing that.

  • Can't forget about Pewaukee, either.

  • Say it again, Dexter
  • You can't just say that and not link a source talking about this mammal.

    Edit: Found a source.

  • Preview for Time Splitters on PlayStation 2.
  • Another classic. This was one of my favorite FPS's from that era. Played it so much as a kid. The only one that beat it was its sequel, Future Perfect. Sadly it had a bug where after enough time your save file would become corrupted and all of your progress would be lost. :/ Idk what triggered it, but it happened to every single save file of mine if given enough time.
I should try it out on PCSX2. Hopefully the files won't corrupt on there.

  • ELI5 How come streaming service are now running commercials? Is that not bad for business because most if not all people got it to avoid commercials?
  • The line always has to go up. If the company stops picking up new subscribers, then their profits stagnate. And that makes investors unhappy. So to avoid that, they start to jack up the price to keep the line going up. And if that isn't enough, they then start throwing ads into the services.
The line must always go up.

  • I swear to god
  • That's Derpleton from Centaurworld. Is a weird, but good show. Would recommend.

  • The left one. It's the Giraffe's neck that's long. Not their torso.

    Edit: See Derpleton from Centaurworld.

  • Terrified friends burn to death trapped in Tesla as doors won't open after crash
  • When I first learned that Teslas (and almost all other EV's) have electronic only doors, I knew this kind of situation would happen.
I hope this gets laws enacted that force manufacturers to install mechanical latches on all of their vehicles. I know Teslas have manual overrides on their front doors, but the rear doors still have this issue.

  • Bernie Would Have Won. Seriously.
  • I specifically remember Wyoming's DNC primary that year. Bernie had beat Hillary by a small margin, so essentially 50-50. In response, the DNC gave about 75% of the state's super delegates to Hillary.

  • Period tracking app refuses to disclose data to American authorities
  • It doesn't, but with these apps, you can see what information they send back to their servers (if any). If there is no info getting sent back to any servers, then there's nothing a subpoena can do since there's no info to subpoena. You can't obtain info that just isn't there.

  • Cannon App going shitty
  • Uuuugh. While it's a bit clunky, I use this app from time to time. There are a few situations where it's handy. Guess I have to find another way now...

  • Not OP, but there's this Cardamom Chai that I enjoy. It could be worth a shot.

  • I found two Earl Gray's that I really enjoy. Earl Gray Cream and Lady Grey. Both good, savory flavors.

Had A Cute But Slightly Terrifying Moment With A Bee. More Photos Inside.

It was originally on my towel while tanning and I grabbed my phone to take a pic. After the towel pic, it hopped onto my hand right between my middle and ring fingers. The problem was that was my phone hand, so I could feel it moving around, but I couldn't actually see it. I was hoping it would fly away, but it just stayed there. I carefully took my phone with my other hand and it thankfully started walking down my finger. I think it was after my sweat.

Update From LTT On The Madison Situation

    From the link:

"There were a series of accusations about our company last August from a former employee. Immediately following these accusations, LMG hired Roper Greyell - a large Vancouver-based law firm specializing in labor and employment law, to conduct a third-party investigation. Their website describes them as “one of the largest employment and labour law firms in Western Canada.” They work with both private and public sector employers.

To ensure a fair investigation, LMG did not comment or publicly release any data and asked our team members to do the same. Now that the investigation is complete, we’re able to provide a summary of the findings.

    The investigation found that:

    • Claims of bullying and harassment were not substantiated.

    • Allegations that sexual harassment were ignored or not addressed were false.

    • Any concerns that were raised were investigated. Furthermore, from reviewing our history, the investigator is confident that if any other concerns had been raised, we would have investigated them.

    • There was no evidence of “abuse of power” or retaliation. The individual involved may not have agreed with our decisions or performance feedback, but our actions were for legitimate work-related purposes, and our business reasons were valid.

    • Allegations of process errors and miscommunication while onboarding this individual were partially substantiated, but the investigator found ample documentary evidence of LMG working to rectify the errors and the individual being treated generously and respectfully. When they had questions, they were responded to and addressed.

In summary, as confirmed by the investigation, the allegations made against the team were largely unfounded, misleading, and unfair.

With all of that said, in the spirit of ongoing improvement, the investigator shared their general recommendation that fast-growing workplaces should invest in continuing professional development. The investigator encouraged us to provide further training to our team about how to raise concerns to reinforce our existing workplace policies.

Prior to receiving this report, LMG solicited anonymous feedback from the team in an effort to ensure there was no unreported bullying and harassment and hosted a training session which reiterated our workplace policies and reinforced our reporting structure. LMG will continue to assess ongoing continuing education for our team.

At this time, we feel our case for a defamation suit would be very strong; however, our deepest wish is to simply put all of this behind us. We hope that will be the case, given the investigator’s clear findings that the allegations made online were misrepresentations of what actually occurred. We will continue to assess if there is persistent reputational damage or further defamation.

This doesn’t mean our company is perfect and our journey is over. We are continuously learning and trying to do better. Thank you all for being part of our community." -LTT
