The message to Democrats is clear: you must dump neoliberal economics
  • It makes perfect sense when you realize places like Missouri and Florida voted for abortion rights yet also voted for Republicans and trump all over too.

And again, there's no big magical force keeping progressives out of winning primaries. They just don't. So again, my point, either people aren't that progressive or progressives fucking suck at voting. Either way, same result.

Moreover, we'll use your metric of progressive policies winning over Harris and analyze why she won more over Bernie himself. Must mean people are more moderate right?

  • The message to Democrats is clear: you must dump neoliberal economics
  • It is non-voters. Whether they're left leaning or center or whatever really doesn't matter. They're going to get it one way or the other. They had a chance to drive the car more left but decided it wasn't worth showing up so now it's going full speed right wing back to the 50s and worse.

    Congrats?

I mean, you're basically making my point. People who don't vote decide the election with their inaction. Whether it was not coming out for Bernie or not coming out for Kamala, it's the same thing.

So yes, thank you for proving my point better than I could. I appreciate the assist.

Bonus- Bernie finished behind Kamala in Vermont. So let's not act like progressivism is some silver bullet here.

  • The message to Democrats is clear: you must dump neoliberal economics
  • Kind of a reverse Freedom Caucus. I could potentially see that working. Then again, people say AOC is no longer pure, etc. so I'm not sure progressives have the stomach to stick together long enough for that to work.

  • The message to Democrats is clear: you must dump neoliberal economics
  • Which is normal politics. Why didn't Warren and Bernie make a deal then?

Face it- if he can't win a primary then that's on him. And this is coming from someone who voted for him in 2020.

Point being- people need to stop acting like there is some mythical force stopping progressives. If they truly were that numerous then Bernie would've been elected as the candidate in 2020 (2016 I'll give you the DNC fuckery.)

Moreover, they could elect AOCs all over the country too. But guess what- either they aren't that numerous or they're lazy as shit. Either way, you get "centrist" candidates like Biden. People seriously need to wake up and either start voting en masse in the primaries or realize that America is just not that progressive.

    Bengals lose a heartbreaker

Anyone surprised? Saw that loss coming.

Brilliant coaching to run all 3 downs and trust a long field goal. Playing not to lose surely is the best strategy.

    Bengals win!

    Who would've thought.

How we feeling about Hell is Real?

We're down Robinson and Murphy I believe due to yellow card accumulation. Not feeling great about that.

    Nightly mobile URL bar

Anyone else hate this? I don't want a dumbed down bar. If Im on the homepage, I want to know. Same as if I'm on a subpage.

This is in reference to Mozilla changing the URL to ALWAYS show only the domain. Absolutely terrible IMO. As for the double tall menu now? That is mostly fine.

At least give me an option to see the full url.

Anyone think Urban was better with the pulp?

Maybe it's just me but I feel like Urban Artifact beers were better when they weren't filtered like they are now. Feel like there is a dramatic loss of flavor compared to the pulpy goodness it was before.

    Thoughts on the offseason?

Looks like we picked up a safety, resigned Sample to a 3 year deal, and released Mixon after getting that RB from the Colts.

How we feeling about more signings? Feel like we're short on O-line yet again but maybe they have plans.

    Best distro for linux gaming?

Unsure if this is the place to ask or not but figured it was closest to it.

Basically I am looking to make an AIO retro gaming PC. Main goal is to have one simple box hooked up to the TV so my friends and I can game without having to swap discs and consoles all the time. Would probably use mostly DS3 (or 4?) controllers hooked up with USB or via BT.

I know lemmy doesn't much care about piracy but this is all just to play games/consoles we legally own. Would include PS1-3, Nintendo, SNES, N64, Gamecube (think that is all we have).

I think https://batocera.org/ has been mentioned, Lakka (maybe this is more for pis?), and EmuDeck has been mentioned. Basically looking for the easiest distro to throw on a PC with a nice UI (can be launched via kb/mouse, all the same to me) that has the emulators built in and just needs the ROMs.

    Best holiday foods?

Basically looking for the best eggnog, German pastries, etc.

Used to buy hartzel? Eggnog but I'm not sure where it's sold anymore. Any other good places to get German holiday foods other than servatii?
