    Malicious compliance

Malicious compliance (also known as malicious obedience) is the behavior of strictly following the orders of a superior despite knowing that compliance with the orders will have an unintended or negative result. It usually implies following an order in such a way that ignores or otherwise undermines the order's intent, but follows it to the letter. It can also describe a willful act of regulatory interference, for example when a corporation releases a compliant but inferior version of a product in response to new legislation. A form of passive-aggressive behavior, it is often associated with poor management-labor relationships, micromanagement, a generalized lack of confidence in leadership, and resistance to changes perceived as pointless, duplicative, dangerous, or otherwise undesirable. It is common in organizations with top-down management structures lacking morale, leadership or mutual trust. In U.S. law, this practice has been theorized as a form of uncivil obedience...

‘Get Somebody Else to Do It’: Trump Resistance Encounters Fatigue

    https://archive.is/JZPLo

You can't push back with all of your effort all of the time. You will burn out so fast, and the "regular" things in your life will suffer for it. That's setting yourself up to spiral down the drain, and that doesn't do anyone any good.

This is not like going on a crash diet, starving yourself in the short term and not knowing where to go on week three. This is the long game. This is a change in mindset. This is like building a different relationship with food.

If you need to, take a break. Catch your breath. Regroup. Doing that is being prepared to resist. You will need stamina, creativity, and spontaneity; it's perfectly valid to take some time to build those skills.

Not every action is going to be right for every person, but even something as simple as looking the other way in the right moment is an act of resistance.

Then, when you're rested and ready, you can give support to others or take the lead so someone else can rest.

There are going to be people who could use whatever help you are able to provide, especially if you are in the Southwest US.

    • Immigration status is irrelevant

Whether someone is a natural-born US citizen, a naturalized US citizen, a non-citizen with legal status, or an undocumented non-citizen, these arrest and deportation efforts are going to scoop up people who don't "look" right, and who are not immediately able to prove citizenship to someone who is probably not at all trained to recognize whether someone is a citizen or not.

    • What you can do

Make a space in your home for guests. Make sure that you have proof of citizenship or legal status (a passport is best). Help people you know to do the same. Build a little support network, be observant, be patient.

If you don't already have pepper spray, you should get it, one for everyone in your household, and you should carry it.

www.nbcnews.com Incoming Trump admin is eyeing new immigrant detention centers near major U.S. cities

The plan would also include restarting the policy of detaining parents with their children, known as family detention, which immigration advocates have criticized.

Incoming Trump admin is eyeing new immigrant detention centers near major U.S. cities

    > > > Cities with large populations of migrants — like Denver, Los Angeles, Miami and Chicago — could need additional detention sites built nearby to hold migrants arrested there. The administration might also need to reopen, expand or build new facilities in the Northeast to hold migrants arrested around New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, the source said. > >

Pay attention to federal construction projects near metropolitan areas. Stand in opposition to the building of detention camps.

Know that it may not be possible to prevent these camps from being built, but it can certainly take longer, go over budget, and be a bigger and more well-known black stain.

    US Knife Laws by state

The Second Amendment does apply to knives. Know the knife laws in your state, and in other states you may find yourself in.

If personal protection is a priority for you, a knife is something that you can use right away, without having to identify yourself or register the weapon.

What can you do to be more prepared today than you were yesterday?

Get healthy. Be physically active. Become stronger. No matter what comes, you will be better prepared to face it when you have increased stamina.

Know how to survive with minimal supplies, at least for a few days. Water, shelter, fire, food. The tools for these can all be put into a small backpack at fairly minimal cost:

    • Tarp
    • Paracord and/or bank line
    • Disposable lighter and ferro rod with a striker
    • Camping mess kit
    • A couple of MREs, hardtack, pemmican
    • Knife

Be observant and listen. Even the information you collect could be useful in supporting someone who needs urgent help, or in interfering with fascist goals.
