I know this post is old, but I just did 101.98 WPM on thumb-key using the english type-split layout. My monkeytype settings were the default (time 30 eng)
My car is not even 20 years old, it does not have automatic wipers or lights. Lol. Also if someone turns them on manually, why is it bad that they don't use auto mode?
The funny part is that it is actually "headlights on when wipers required", which is quite strange. When I am in heavy rain and I have a freshly rainx'ed winshield, I don't even need wipers. But I still need lights

Not really. This would all happen so fast and be emotionally, not logically, driven.
It's a Samsung "feature". If you turn the volume up high enough, it warns you about hearing loss. Even if what you are listening to is super quiet so you have to turn it up to hear, and even if you are connected to a speaker.
Edit: Apparently it's not just Samsung phones anymore, instead it is an Android 14 feature. And apparently some other OEMs have had a similar feature for a while.

It's common knowledge that planting something in the ground will make it grow more of the thing. So I just took some cheese (don't worry... I stole it. I don't buy animal products I'm vegan) and planted it in the ground. Pretty soon I will have a ton of vegan cheese coming up. Wish me luck.

Can someone give me an overview on the Jill Stein situation?
I have never heard of Jill Stein until just a few months ago when I saw some article about her on the Lemmy homepage. Then I saw more and more articles about her. However, I don't really know why the media is paying so much attention to her. She is just a third party candidate, right? There are other third party candidates that aren't constantly popping up in the news. So why Jill Stein? I hear its something to do with Russia and a general sense of her goal being to take votes away from Kamala.
Do drivers in the USA have to yield to alien UFO's?
If I am driving on a road, and a flying saucer with a spotlight is hovering ahead waiting to land, do I have to stop in the roadway and yield to them? Or do they have to yield to cars in the road? I checked my states driving manual and they don't mention alien air/spacecraft at all.
I would guess that the UFO would have the right of way, as traffic would have to eventually stop for them anyways. Should I just stop in the roadway and put my hazards on so the flying saucer pilot is aware I am yielding the right of way to them?
