otter @lemmy.dbzer0.com Not going to church anymore is how you lower your chances of being raped — or elected, so: win/win. 🤷🏽♂️✊🏼

iii @mander.xyz Mary was impregnated unbeknownst, against her own will. She never married the father of Jesus, quite the sin.

What if, indeed.

FuglyDuck @lemmy.world …. Have they read the Bible?! There’s no way marry gave meaningful consent. God raped marry, then sent an angel to intimidate Joseph into silence.
45 3 ReplySai Somsphet @lemmy.zip Never once looked at it that way but that is one hell of a perspective shift whiplash you gave me
22 0 Replydeadbeef79000 @lemmy.nz Don't worship God the exact way he wants? Annihilation.

surewhynotlem @lemmy.world No, don't be silly. You don't need consent when it's an inferior species. It's like sex with a fish.

the_crotch @sh.itjust.works Mary was 14, and God is supposedly everyones father. That story gets darker the longer you look at it.

Colonel Panic @lemm.ee I always assumed she hooked up with the 3 wise guys and didn't want Joseph to know.
6 1 Replybamfic @lemmy.world Wise guys? Now I'm imagining Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta, and Bob DeNiro running a train on Mary.

36 2 ReplyBlemboTheThird @lemmy.ca This is somehow simultaneously incredibly optimistic (no way this happens for at least another hundred years, if ever) and pessimistic (surely we'd do tons of way cooler stuff than Not Believing In Skyman)

Pennomi @lemmy.world It’s not why I don’t go to church any more… but it’s certainly a good supporting reason.

20 0 ReplyCosmicTurtle0 @lemmy.dbzer0.com The man incited a riot, tantamount to sedition. He has been proven to be under the influence of, if not directly under the control of, Putin, a foreign competitor to say the very least.
If the first point wasn't enough (and it fucking should be), the second one should be disqualifying.
16 1 Replydaddy32 @lemmy.world He incited not just a riot, but murders, in Charles Manson style.

EchoCranium @lemmy.zip If your faith lead you to vote for a man like Trump, who doesn't express a single Christian ideal in the manner he lives, then you are not really a Christian. Unfortunately too many people here in the US follow American Jesus instead. Lying? Cheating? Bigotry? That's just fine, so long as you have money. Wealth is a sign that American Jesus loves you more than all those awful poor people.
16 0 Replyfossilesque @mander.xyz My mom basically says this, but the diddlers drove her away first and the nasty people. She's a saint.
