And on the other hand, growing cotton uses a lot of water. And wool comes from animals.
What actually is the greenest material to make garments of?
You really think it's common for free countries to ban books. I'm pretty sure my country of Finland (not "some banana republic) does not have any banned books.
I somehow enabled the Vulkan renderer for Plasma at some point, and it caused this problem. Disabling it fixed this.
I think there's already too much American politics on Lemmy, I don't need that on my cat pics
Posted it there too.

Plasmashell started crashing every time I interact with the panel
Fedora KDE, Wayland, Nvidia, proprietary drivers. Everything worked fine until suddenly plasmashell started crashing every time I interact with with the plasma panel. On x11 this doesn't happen, but instead the the whole video freezes while audio continues, and after a while it comes back. The plasma panel may or may not be frozen after this.
Is this an Nvidia problem again?
Logs coming in a couple minutes
Yeah I thought this thing was pretty decent, way better than originally, but then I got to use a Prusa MK4 at school...
I don't think the CPU in my computer has changed in a while
Yup you're indeed seeing an EMT8 :D. This thing's got a SKR mini e3 V3, E3D v6 clone and an E3D titan clone. I have a post about it in my profile.
I bet there are dozens of us EMT8 owners! Dozens!
I'm pretty sure a keyboard wasn't standard equipment. And it definitely couldn't drive a monitor like that directly.
Don't you need to provide an ID to verify your age for porn in some states?
It's not often I actually laugh when reading a comment. This was one of those times
An old HP laptop with Debian hosting Klipper and Home Assistant. Waiting for an OTG cable so I could replace the laptop with a phone for less power and heat
I get a pair of wool socks every christmas from my grandma's sister who makes them. Which is about the rate they get holes in them lol
I might post my carry when I get a better wallet and a working multitool :P
That entering angle looks very steep
A crappy wallet that at the same time is massive in my pocket but can't fit much inside, my keys on a carabiner with a bluetooth tracket and a half broken Gerber Dime multitool. And of course my trusty Emisar D4V2 flashlight.
Edit: how did a forget my watch? A nice Seiko Lord Matic Special from 1971
Fun fact: "pissa" means piss in Finnish
Yes I can
Didn't Tom Scott make a video about this?
The humble Anet A8 isn't actually that bad if you just take some insipiration from the Ship of Theseus
Upgrades include:
- Frame made of steel tube
- E3D V6 clone and E3D titan clone
- Noctua heatbreak fan
- SKR Mini E3 V3 board
- Raspberry Pi running Klipper
- G10 build sheet
- Bed insulation
- ATX power supply
- BLTouch
Probably missed a few in the list
Where does the computer branding in KDE settings come from?
The settings on KDE show this info about my computer after buying a used motherboard. Apparently it came from a prebuilt, though it is a standard ASUS board. Where does this branding come from and is it possible to remove it?
The branding also shows in inxi:
Machine: Type: Desktop System: PC Specialist product: Tornado R7S v: N/A serial: <superuser required> Mobo: ASUSTeK model: PRIME B450-PLUS v: Rev X.0x serial: <superuser required> part-nu: 1744753 UEFI: American Megatrends v: 4402 date: 12/13/2023
Would you believe these cars were made the same year?
These are both 1988, a friend's Cadillac de Ville and my Trabant 601. The cars available in the USA and East Germany at the time were a bit different.
Link posts in compact
Is it possible to have link posts in compact layout while other posts are in cards layout? I miss this feature from Boost and Eternity.
Is the TS10 still the go-to for a small and bright EDC?
I've bought two of these now and lost both. One just disappeared from my pocket and the other I dropped somewhere in a dark forest.
Now I want a new EDC. Is it a good idea to get another TS10 or are there better alternatives now?
I want decent brightness and small size. Andruril is a huge plus and aux leds are also fun. And not very expensive in case I lose one again.
Played a little Carcassonne a while back
We had 3 or 4 sets.
And if you look closely, you can see some illegally placed pieces that somehow weren't noticed when placed
